“I enjoyed that the process began with what we needed for our school and that Joseph and the team remained focus on our agreed criteria. I was pleased with the narrative co-constructed which gave a prospective staff member a sense of what was important to us – their values, sense of adventure, willingness to learn and importantly a commitment to bilingual and bicultural education on the homeland.

I felt relieved that I did not have to look at applications that did not meet the needs I’d outlined and that the screening process enabled me to be as involved as I had time and interest at the appropriate time. It was good to check in on a weekly basis and to evaluate how the advertisement was working and whether anything needed to be clarified.

At a time when the market was flooded with vacancies in areas that are already hard to appoint the right staff, it did not take us long to find someone who may not have usually looked at a role such as ours and to engage in a process with the community and registered teachers. The employment process was smooth and since then we’ve heard from Joseph and his team, checking in on our new arrival and engaging in discussions about workforce planning for 2024.”
